Concrete Symphony House

The house is best described as a concrete symphony of shapes, heights, textures and fluxes. It takes the chaotic order of a city and organises it into an architectural composition. The apparent disorganisation creates sunken courtyards, half floors, platforms and terraces, as well as interesting and innovative connections between these elements.

As a consequence, all the volumes are arranged around the garden and the pool that become the central point of the house. Instead of opening towards its vicinity, the house is introverted and more intimate – the lower levels are open and transparent, while the upper body is covered in a compact concrete shell. The alternation of transparent and solid surfaces creates interesting effects of light and shades.

The home defines a new way of living in the city – modern amenities without the loss of tranquillity and privacy.
