Santa Ready Home
Santa Ready Home is a great example of how small changes can completely transform a historic home. Built in the early 1920s, the house had some structural updates before, but it needed a refresh to meet the needs of today’s living. Our goal was to keep the original character of the house while giving it a modern touch.
We focused on the central hallway, which connects the dining room, kitchen, and living room. By realigning the doors and creating matching frames, we gave the space a cleaner, more elegant look. In the living room, we updated the wall and ceiling colors and brought in new furniture and lighting, keeping the room’s original charm intact. We also added a smart lighting system that makes controlling the lights easy and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere for the family.
The main living area was designed for comfort, with padded floors and walls covered in thick carpet, making it a cozy, multipurpose space for the family to relax and enjoy time together. Upstairs, the attic’s “secret room” became a personalized hideaway, perfect for movie nights with its projector and adaptable space. The soft carpet on the floors, walls, and ceiling creates a snug, functional room, perfect for relaxing.
In the master bedroom, we added bold wallpaper to give the room a unique personality. Using natural materials and warm tones, we created a calm, cozy atmosphere without overcrowding the space. The kids’ room features a secure hammock between two walls, offering a fun play area that can be adjusted as needed. The playful wallpaper and ceramic stove add character and warmth to the room.
Overall, Santa Ready Home shows how thoughtful design and small, strategic updates can breathe new life into a historic home while keeping its original charm alive.
