Infill House

The location of the site in a densely built-up area and the presence of two calcans on the site forced us to create an “urban fill”. Therefore, the two facades of the house face the street and the courtyard with the swimming pool respectively.

This organisation has implicitly influenced the layout of the rooms – the communal spaces are grouped towards the street and the private spaces are oriented towards the garden to benefit from an increased level of privacy.

Both facades are transparent to allow natural light into the interior and to create a visual link between the building, the garden and the street.

The natural finishes – natural stone veneer, wooden sunshades and bamboo blinds – together with the vegetation framing the walls, emphasise the intimate relationship between the built and unbuilt space.
