Green Mall Bucharest
Green Mall Bucharest transforms an underused building into a contemporary commercial destination with a strong and recognisable identity. The project retains the original structure while giving it a new purpose aligned with today’s market expectations and urban needs.
The building consists of a central volume (GF+4) flanked by two lateral wings (GF+2). The interior layout was reconfigured, technical systems were upgraded, and an external evacuation staircase was added to meet current safety and operational standards. These interventions provide flexibility for future tenants and ensure long-term functionality.
At the core of the development is the plant mall, a concept spanning all floors of the central body. It combines natural and artificial vegetation to create a distinctive interior atmosphere. The façade of this volume has been redesigned as a vertical garden, equipped with automated irrigation and drainage systems. This approach gives the building a clear identity and positions it as a green landmark within the city.
The landscape concept was created in collaboration with Alexandru Gheorghe (Hertz Studio).
Green Mall Bucharest demonstrates how an existing property can be repositioned through strategic investment. The project brings new life to an abandoned structure and turns it into a functional asset that can support retail, showrooms, offices, or mixed uses—within a setting that stands out through both character and concept.
