Awarded! World Architecture | 2011

We are pleased to announce our winning project for the WA Architecture Awards, 9th Cycle. The World Architecture community and the Honorary Members have awarded the project “Wood House” for outstanding residential design.

The home follows the natural site through the simple composition of volumes with a pronounced horizontality and emphasised by the terrace above the ground floor, strongly stepping out in a console. The wooden elements soften the building’s robust and firm geometry dictated by functionality requests. The house also gains architectural value from the use of environmentally friendly materials.

The interior spaces are generous, grouping the common functions of a house (living room, kitchen, two bedrooms etc) and giving them an opening to nature, through large glass surfaces.

The house has a general surface area of 1,000 sqm, including the basement and the external dependencies.
